Chinese New Year

Hello PEOPLE! Sen's Back! Today will be my last blog entry for my English assignment. However, this blog may be kept alive if i want to take blogging as a hobby.

Well, my entry today is about Chinese New Year? Feel the adrenaline rush? The reluctance to wait any further? I'm sure you do. Well Chinese New Year, in my opinion, is by far the highlight of the year. If you are chinese and well, not married yet, you may be on your way to get some Ang Paos(red packets). Yay for these. Well i think this year we are celebrating the count down party at my house, sometimes its at my aunt's house. This is when my whole family(mother's side) come over to party until midnight or one to celebrate this festive occasion.

In Chinese New Year, sometimes its not all about the red packets. I like the joyous atmosphere and the best part is playing BLACKJACK. I'm sure some of you play blackjack during chinese new year, or maybe even MAHJONG. i like mahjong, but sometimes i don't get to play because you have 'proffesionals' such as my dad and uncles. During lunch, we would head on to my grandmother's place(father's side) to have a sumptious spread of abalone, 'yong tau foo', and chicken, which all taste so Finger lickin' good.

Oh well thats all for my last, memorable blog entry, till then, goodbye!

Regards,
Sen.

Australian Open

Hey I'm back. I'm feeling really exuberant. This brings me to my other point about my obsession with the AUSTRALIAN OPEN. That's right you heard me. This is the Grand Slam of Asia Pacific and the first grand slam(which means major tournament) of the year! There are big names such as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal competing, which means it is very intense and the tension will be high. Up to this date, 28 January 2010, it has reached the semi-finals(only the match between Federer and Tsonga) left. I'm rooting for Roger Federer all the way because his strokes a nothing but elegant and gracious, and legends such as Pete Sampras says he is the greatest player who ever lived.

I also think that he is not like Tiger Woods, who has been reported to be not loyal to his wife and go around partying with women. This shows that he is a very hunble and gracious person, and does not get too hungry for success. I think that the Finals will be gripping, pushing you to the edge of your seat, i hope that after reading this entry, you may want to go and watch the vibrant AUSTRALIAN OPEN!

Regards,
Sen

Seperation from a deared object.

Hi its me again. This blog entry goes out to my treasured Fujitsu laptop which has been confiscated by my mother( which i hope does not read this entry ). Well it just so happens that sometimes, when i actually do work, my parents do not do a spot check and when i'm slacking, (60% of the time) they catch me using the computer. Talk about injustice! Well this goes out to my other point, because somehow I feel that having the computer in front of me in fact helps me to concentrate better, I do not know in tarnation's name how, but, there is this certain feeling that makes me study better.

Without the computer in front of me, there is this uneasyness that beholds in my mind, sort off makes me lose concentration and day-dream. I know that my parents take away my 'assets' because as an act of love but i just want them to, relax and let my 'hardworking-ness' do its job.

Still, i understand how my parents feel because i am a natural born slacker, not very proud of it. I think the problem with me is the lack of determination, the will to drive, but i think when doing homework, i lack the guts; for example, when i feel that i am not very certain about the answer, i will just give up.

Well even though i am using my mother's laptop now, i wait in hunger for when the CA's(continual assessment) to be over when i think i can retrieve my laptop back. That is all for today's entry, have a good day.

Regards,

Sen.

Unfortunate Incident~

Hi its SEN!

Something really unfortunate happened last Friday. My dog, who has been staying at my aunt's house since the 20th December, has been hit by a car. I learnt about the news when i went shopping with my mother at Vivo City when my mother received a call form my aunt saying that the poor dog, Li-En, has been hit by car.

I was shocked learning about this incident and started to feel sorrowful. I thought that that was quite tragic, but my mother told me that Li-En had herself to blame because she bolted out of the house. What was most infuriating, was that the driver that hit the dog, zoomed off without stopping by. I know that it was not his fault but he really should not have just left like that.

Thereafter, we went to visit Li-En at the Pet Hospital near Steven's Road. She looked very pitiful and had a scar etched on her nose and around her body. My heart sank. She was trembling non-stop. My brother, Wen, was always on a close relationship with Li-En before we dropped her off at my aunt's house. When my brother gestured for her to come over, she was hostile and approached my aunt first. We were like complete strangers. She was on a drip(tubing) connected to her paw. The docter said that she could be discharged in two days. We were elated.

However, she will stay at my aunt's place for another week, then Li-En will return to my place. I look forward to her as she has such a jovial character.

Signing Off,
Sen.

A Special Moment That i Enjoyed With My Family

A Special Moment That i Enjoyed With My Family~

There was this one time when my family went to Bali, a wonderful and exotic island. We stayed there for three days and two nights, and we had a whale of a time over there.

The most special occasion of the trip was when we went for white water rafting. It was thrilling and exhilarating. Before the rafting, we went for a sumptious lunch at this restaurant called 'Babi Oka' which served barbecued pork with rice. Even though it was very spicy, i could taste a hint of balinese tradition behind that serving of rice. Then, the van from the white water rafting company picked us up from there. We didn't expect to be sitting in that van for almost half an hour. I thought that this would be an awesome time to interact with my dad, mum, and brothers. So I kick-started the discussion with a topic. 'Do you thing white water rafting will be scary?' I blurted. Then came in loads of responses. This got quite intriguing and it felt like a blink of an eye to reach the rafting site. We immediately changed into our swim wear, put on our life jackets, picked up a majestic looking oar, and scurried frantically to the rafts which was about two hundred metres downhill.

When we arrived at our cosy looking rafts, we were greeted by a friendly boatsman. He looked very broad and muscular. I felt more secure as he would be the one guiding the boat. We set 'sail' on our journey along the forty-five-minute bumpy course. There were many thrilling downhill mini waterfalls and rapids. It was a hell of a ride. This was great family time because we worked together as a team in tandem with the beats of the boatsman. Along the journey, we also admired beautiful scenic views such as this five-star hotel along the course and the lush greenery. There were also birds chirping and a few disturbing scenes of people bathing in the river. I also felt a special bond between my family and I during the course of the journey and that moment was so very special.

Towards the end of the journey, the boatsman even 'pranked' us by hitting his oar against the river causing a loud, sharp noise. My mother bursted ' What in tarnation!' He lied to us saying that there were head hunters and we panicked until my mom recalled that he saw a glimpse of him hitting the river with his oar. We all laughed. At the end, we bided farewell to the boatman. We tipped him about twenty thousand Rupiah which was about three Singapore dollars. We threw in our life jackets into this bucket-like thing. Then we headed back to our private van which brought us safely to the hotel.

Sen.
